General Info

Tucked away at 22 Charlwood St, Pimlico, London SW1V 2DY, United Kingdom, Pimlico Thai is one of those places you discover once and keep coming back to. The atmosphere feels relaxed and welcoming from the moment you step inside, which makes it perfect for a casual dinner in the neighborhood. It’s the kind of Thai restaurant where the food, the service, and the overall vibe work together to create an experience that feels authentic yet comfortable.

The menu at Pimlico Thai focuses on classic Thai flavors, and the dishes are prepared in a way that feels both traditional and satisfying. One of the highlights is the Chicken Pad Thai, a dish that immediately stands out for its balance of sweet, tangy, and savory notes. The noodles are perfectly cooked, tossed with tender chicken and fresh ingredients that give the dish its signature depth of flavor.

If you’re starting your meal with appetizers, the Spring Rolls are an easy choice. They arrive crisp and golden, with a light filling that pairs well with the dipping sauce. Another favorite from the starter section is the Antipasti Tailandesi Misti, which offers a small selection of Thai-style bites that work well for sharing. It’s a great way to explore different textures and flavors before the main courses arrive.

For something comforting, the Tom Kha Soup is a standout. The creamy coconut base combined with aromatic herbs creates a warm, fragrant dish that feels both rich and refreshing. It’s the kind of soup that makes you slow down and enjoy every spoonful.

Moving on to mains, the Chicken with Cashews is another popular option on the menu. The dish combines tender chicken with crunchy cashews and a flavorful sauce that brings everything together beautifully. It’s simple, satisfying, and a great representation of the restaurant’s approach to Thai cooking.

Pimlico Thai is also well suited for an easy evening out. The restaurant offers dinner service in a comfortable setting, and the availability of wine helps complement many of the dishes on the menu. For those evenings when staying in sounds better, delivery is available, making it convenient to enjoy the same flavors at home. Payments are straightforward as well, with credit cards accepted, which adds to the overall convenience.

Based on many positive reviews and my own experience, Pimlico Thai feels like a reliable local dining spot. Whether you’re exploring Thai cuisine for the first time or simply looking for a familiar place for dinner in Pimlico, the combination of a well-rounded menu, welcoming service, and accessible location makes it an easy choice.

“ In came to this establishment quite wary as I have never had Thai food. The atmosphere when I walked in was lively and elegant, nothing like I had seen before. The kind server greeted me with a beaming smile which brightened my day and the aroma of delicious spices lit up my appetite for the food. As I took my seat I perfectly perched into the chair as if it was home sweet home, I then looked at the menu and was overwhelmed with many options but we decided on the Thai iced tea, the skewers, the noodles and the laksa. Everything was magnificent and I will be coming back again. ”

“ This place is a little gem. Prices are very good for a London restaurant and the food was lovely. Service was quick and really friendly. I visited mid week so it was a bit quiet, but I still enjoyed it. Decor is a little dated, but who cares when the food and staff are so good. Will definitely be returning. ”

“ Best Pad Thai I have ever eaten in my life!!!! I have visited many places in Thailand and many in the USA, this is by far, the best!!! The noodles were NOT over hydrated, they were just perfect amount of humidity on them. They come no spicy , if you like them spicy, I recommend asking for the chili powder, be careful, it does have a good kick. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the dishes. The shrimp on the pad Thai came without that “extra” shrimp scales, just the tail, that’s a big plus. I hate having to take that small portion every time I have them. This time, I did not have to worry about it ”

“ Nice family run Thai restaurant not too far from Pimlico train station. The staff are friendly and welcoming and service is great. There is a great selection of Thai food to try from Thai curries to Noddle dishes to stir fries to rice dishes. All are made from fresh ingredients and taste delicious. For anyone that does not eat meat there are also great vegetarian options. For me this was the best Thai food I have ever had ”

“ Dining at Pimlico Thai was a refreshing reminder of how reasonable portion sizes can be outside the U.S. For the first time in a long while, I cleaned my plate completely—and it felt satisfying rather than overwhelming. The ambiance was enhanced by the pleasant sound of the staff speaking Thai, adding an authentic and welcoming touch to the experience. The food itself was equally impressive, with flavors that truly stood out. I ordered the Penang curry, and it was fantastic. The curry had an excellent depth of flavor, thick, rich, and perfectly balanced. One small caution: watch out for the red peppers. While some are mild red bell peppers, others are sneaky chili peppers that pack a punch! My wife ordered the dumpling soup, which she absolutely loved. The filling was tender and juicy, and the broth was warm, comforting, and flavorful, making it a dish she’d eagerly order again. As for the rice, it was a bit of a mixed bag. They offer sticky rice, which is always a nice option, but their jasmine rice was underwhelming—it lacked the fragrance you’d typically expect from a good jasmine rice. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food with thoughtful preparation and satisfying portions, Pimlico Thai is a great choice. Despite a small miss with the jasmine rice, the overall experience was excellent, and I’d gladly return for another flavorful meal. ”

“ Met up with relatives in the area so decided to try this restaurant. Welcomed by friendly staff, we tried various dishes which were thoroughly enjoyable. Also good to find the green Curry wasn't overly spicy like other restaurants that burned your entire head. Will certainly come back here for the food when in the area. ”

“ Cozy Thai restaurant with lots of vegan options. Allergens are marked very clearly. Good portion and tasty. I ordered vegan laksa with veggies and tofu. The broth was rich. ”
